Werewolf: The Savage Age - Cover, The Broken Brother

This is the cover for Werewolf: The Savage Age Epic Jumpstart: The Broken-Brother.

The original brief was more spartan, basically a spear sticking out of the ground w/ a werebear skull on it. After a few sketches I could tell it couldn't work the way the authors had envisioned, so I tossed them the sketch of the skull proper. Just visually alone it was more arresting than just the spear. Thankfully the authors saw what I saw, and approved it instantly.

My goal was to not just make a nice looking cover, but present enough story ideas that readers would be enticed to know more.
I think it turned out really well, quite happy with it.

Final inks. I tried to different techniques than I usually do for this one, mostly "painting" with the inks to create the hair and so forth.
